Who?
The Community Chest is every resident and business that makes a contribution to the Chest’s annual fundraising campaign.
What?
Funds
raised in the campaign support programs at local non-profit
organizations that provide social, cultural, recreational, and
educational services to community residents. A thorough process of
screening, research, and monitoring by the Chest’s Board of Managers
assures that dollars raised go to the most worthy programs and where
they are needed most.
When?
The annual campaign
begins in October. The volunteer Board of Managers conducts the campaign
by mail and with personal contacts, asking everyone in the community to
contribute as generously as possible.
Where?
Englewood, Tenafly, and Englewood Cliffs are the heart
of the Chest’s efforts, though some support is felt in the broader
community. Most Chest-funded programs make a significant difference in
the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors, but many programs offer
opportunities that benefit us all.
Why?
A community
is measured by the vitality of its non-profit agencies and how well it
cares for its citizens. The Community Chest improves, strengthens, and
otherwise benefits the community by funding programs that serve
community needs. The Chest offers residents and businesses the
opportunity to support the entire community with just one contribution
to the Community Chest. Funds raised by the Chest are vital to the
community and your support is vital to the Chest.
